Items to Bring on the Hunt

Booking Requirements
  1. To insure your hunt is firmly booked I require a deposit of 30% of the cost of your hunt. This can be made by mailing a check to me, or with a money transfer.
  2. By phone or with an enclosed note, indicate the number of clients in your group that wish to hunt, and which animal each hunter wishes to hunt. Be precise.
  3. I need one complete name with an address and phone number, so I have a contact person. When the deposit and information is received, I will confirm your booking.
Final payments upon arrival must be made in cash, travellers' checks, bank drafts or money orders. Personal checks will not be accepted for final payments.

Wildlife Identification Number (W.I.N)
W.I.N is simply a permanent number received in advance, to help speed up the licensing process here in Alberta. Only return clients who have hunted Alberta during the fall of 1998 or later will have this new number already. WIN numbers will be purchased with licenses upon your arrival. There is an application cost of $8.56 CDN.

Hunting Licenses
Hunting licences can only be purchased after the processing of your W.I.N application. Upon arrival, the remaining cost of your hunt must be paid, plus the cost of your hunting licences.

License Fees (Canadian Funds):
Hunting licenses must be purchased through outfitter.

Transportation
You can find us on our map page. Check your road maps for the best route to Grande Prairie, to Fairview, and then to Worsley. We are about 8 hours north of Edmonton, and 2 hours north of Grande Prairie.

Rental vehicles are located at every major airport (Avis, Budget and Tilden). Ask your travel agent to arrange a vehicle for you. If you have extra time, a very scenic drive to our area is through Jasper National Park in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.

For those of you flying by commercial airlines, contact your travel agent for flights into our capital city Edmonton and then a connecting flight to Grande Prairie or Peace River.

Firearms Information
For hunters who bring their own firearms into Canada, a confirmed Non-Resident Firearm Declaration (form JUS 909 EF) will serve as a licence and registration. The Non-Resident Firearms Declaration (Form JUS 909 E/F), and it's continuation sheet (Form JUS 910 E/F) must be presented in triplicate, unsigned, to a Canada Customs officer at your first point of entry into Canada. There is a $50.00 CDN fee which is not included in the price of the hunt.Click here to download these forms.

Customs & Import Regulations
Customs:
U.S. Residents, and customers travelling through U.S.:
There should be no trouble getting through customs at the Canada - U.S. Border. Do not bring hand guns, as they are illegal. However, do bring proper identification. When on your way home, you may be expected to identify what game you are carrying. The export papers you will receive from us should do this.
Contact the U.S. Fish and Game Department to obtain up-to-date information on regulations.

Import Regulations:
Check with your local authorities for import regulations into your country and any country you may be travelling through. Remember - export permits may be required for each country you leave.

Hunting Camp
Camp consists of 14'x16' insulated pony wall tents with wood floors. Each cabin has single beds with mattresses, propane lights, wood furnace, and a sink for washing . We only sleep 2 per tent. We offer a hearty breakfast before our hunt and a huge supper when we return at the end of our day. We hunt all day, so mid-day lunches are in the field, or a hot lunch is available if preferred. You will find our camp to be a comfortable and relaxing place to stay after a fulfulling day of hunting.

Terrain & Hunting Methods
For the most part, our hunting terrain is flat land. We have a mixed boreal forest of pine, spruce, aspen, alder and buckbrush. Gernerally speaking we leave camp with the vehicles and drive to an active hunting area. Depending on the animal being hunted we may stay with the pickup, but usually we hunt on foot or by quad. If you harvest your trophy, we will prepair it for transport, and then haul it back to camp for you.

Weather
What will the weather be? Who can really answer this question? The month of May usually offers warm spring temperatures, ranging from 60 to 70 degrees F. (or 15 to 22 degrees C). During the fall season, September should average 50 to 70 degrees F (10 to 22 degrees C). October temperatures may be 32 degrees to 60 degrees F. (0 to 15 degrees C), and nights may bring below-freezing temperatures. Early November could be -15 to +40 degrees F. (-10 to +5 degrees C). If you have the room, bring extra clothing just in case.

Taxidermist
If you would like to leave your animal, a quick & experienced taxidermist is available. Brochures will be available in camp.
